REQUIREMENTS IN STARTING A BUSINES

To those who wants to start their business here in Iloilo, here's some tips for you on how to process all requirements. I've read this through one of the websites and I find it helpful. So start saving now, get your money roll and generate lots of GOLD. Good Luck!


REGISTRATION FOR BUSINESS NAME (DTI)

    FOR SINGLE PROPRIETORSHIP
  • rattanApplicants must be 18 years of age and above
  • Filipino Citizen
  • Preferred business name and 2 other alternative business names
  • Registration fee of P300.00
  • Documentary stamps
  • 2 machine copy of either voters ID / birth certificate / PRC License if surname is alien sounding

    FOR CORPORATION/PARTNERSHIP (Optional)
  • 2 sets certified true copy of SEC Registration, By-Laws and Articles of Incorporation
  • Documentary Stamp
  • Registration fee P500.00
  • 2 Machine copy of Board Resolution authorizing signatory

MAYOR’S PERMIT (LICENSE TO OPERATE)

  • Business Name Registration Certificate from DTI
  • Brgy. Clearance - 3 copies
  • Residence Certificate
  • Fire certificate - Bureau of Fire Department
  • Zoning Compliance Certificate
  • SSS Registration
  • Food Handlers Permit - for establishment serving food
  • Real Property Tax OR for 4th quarter certificate of Occupancy for new building
  • Other requirements for regulated businesses

BUREAU OF INTERNAL REVENUE (BIR)

  • Sketch of Business Address
  • Mayor’s Permit
  • DTI Business Name Registration Certificate
  • Tax Identification Number (T.I.N.)
  • Applicant’s Birth Certificate. If with dependents, submit also their Birth Certificates
  • Marriage contract for married applicants
  • Registration Fee P500.00. Payment form 0605
  • Certification Fee and Documentary Stamp P115.00
  • Long Folder with Fastener
  • Tax Briefing every Wednesday 9-:00-11:00 A.M.
  • Fill up BIR Forms #1901, #0605, #2000 available at BIR office

COOPERATIVE DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY (CDA)

  • Verification Slip
  • Bonds of Accountable Officer
  • Certificate of Pre-Membership Education Seminar from duly accredited institutions or from CDA Regional/Provincial Offices
  • Endorsement letter from other government agencies, if necessary
  • Express Lane Forms (in pro-forma) consisting of:
    1. Articles of cooperation
    2. By-Laws
    3. Treasurer’s Affidavit
    4. Undertaking to Change Cooperative Name
    5. Undertaking to submit Reportorial Requirements
    6. Notes to Articles of Cooperation
    7. Economic Survey

SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE COMMISSION (For Stock Corporations)

  • Articles of Incorporation and By-Laws
  • At least 5 not more than 15 Board of Director and Incorporators)
  • Taxpayers Identification Number (TIN) and Residence Certificates of Incorporators and Board of Directors
  • Birthdates of Incorporators and Board of Directors
  • Fees: such as
    1. SEC Express Lane Forms
    2. Name Verification Fee
    3. Filling Fee / Registration Fee
    4. By-Laws
    5. Legal Research Fees
    6. Handling Fees
    7. Documentary Stamps
    8. Stock and Transfer Book
    9. Registration of STB

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS / LICENSES IN THE PROVINCE OF ILOILO

  • Provincial Assessor's Office - Certification of Real Property Ownership
  • Provincial Treasurer's Office
    1. Real Property Tax Clearance
    2. Computation of Payments
    3. Business Name, complete address, location sketch, when necessary
    4. Official Receipt
  • Permit Unit - Governor's Office
    1. Issuance of Payment Number
    2. Signature of the Provincial Governor and release of the permit
Action on Application for Business Permit. Upon compliance with all the requirements, the applicant for new license for permit or renewal shall be acted upon within 72 hours from the time it is actually submitted. If the action is unfavorable, written reasons shall be submitted to the applicant within the same period of time so that he may comply with the requirements or cure the deffect. In the event that no action is taken within the said period, it is deemed that such action has been favorably acted upon and the actual issuance of the license of renewal shall be ministerial.
