Megaworld: The rise of Iloilo Business Park

May 6, 2011 - Megaworld Corp has broken ground on their new project in Iloilo on which we should call it as "Iloilo Business Park" located at the Old Airport of Iloilo on which they acquire in 2007 for P1.2 billion from our national government. The company would invest P2.5 Billion over the next 2 years. They would also fund the construction of the 12 storey Richmonde Tower and Hotel that would help boost the economy of Iloilo. 

This would house BPO offices on which the projection was about 24,000 seats and other commercial establishments that will occupy 200,000 square meters to add more jobs in our fellow Ilonggos.

Festive Walk is one of the projects that will also be completed in 2012.

Major Call Centers in Bacolod City had already grown its roots to the ground. As far as I remember, it was 2006 where 2 Major Call Centers established its business, and the competition was very tough. These 2 BPO's stabilized the region as jobs were growing too fast, and that other big companies planned to put up a business here in Negros Occidental. In just 5 years time there were I think 7 or 8 known BPO companies who successfully launch their business. This really made Bacolod a well known city aside from other regional government competitors who are also working with its own growth.

Philippine "AZKALS" Team advances to AFC Challenge Cup 2012

Okay, first of all, congratulations to the AZKALS for winning their last game against BANGLADESH "Bengal Tigers" to qualify for the 2012 AFC Challenge Cup!
